SPINE is made with Unreal Engine 5 and centered around cinematic gun-fu shootouts. It’s a third-person beat’em’up with a full set of PC gaming features, including a deep storyline, a unique setting, cutscenes, intriguing enemies, memorable bosses, character progression, and, most importantly, breathtaking battles with a wide array of firearms.
We are currently looking for a Technical Game designer to join the technical game design team of our flagship project – Spine.
This project represents a new ambitious challenge for the company as it marks our first game for both PC and consoles.
As a Technical Game Designer, you’ll sit at the intersection of gameplay programming and game design.
Responsibilities:
Implement combat system mechanics using C++ and Blueprints(GameplayAbilitySystem), from prototype to final implementation, in collaboration with programmers
Work on the gameplay result of the mechanics, in collaboration with game designers and animators
Independently contribute to the gameplay, helping to polish mechanics to achieve the best feel and to meet gameplay goals
Help integrate content for the combat system (animations, SFX, VFX)
What we are looking for:
2+ years of experience implementing gameplay logic in Unreal Engine (UE4/UE5)
A game design mindset and a basic understanding of the game design principles behind combat systems. We expect at least a decent level of hands-on familiarity with action games
Ability to independently investigate and diagnose gameplay and technical issues
Soft skills for working in a cross-disciplinary feature team — collaborating closely with programmers, game designers, and animators
Conversational or higher level of English — the team mostly speaks Russian, but some team members are English-speaking, so you’ll need it to communicate with them
Will be a plus:
Portfolio showcasing personal game projects or demos of any complexity
