About the role
YAMU Media is a performance marketing agency that builds and scales paid social for ecommerce and lead-gen brands. We are hiring full-time remote video editors based in the Philippines to turn creative briefs and scripts into Meta, TikTok and YouTube ads that hit their numbers.
This is not a brand-film or wedding-video role. Every edit you make is tested against hook rate, hold rate, CTR and cost per purchase or lead. You will work from strategy-first briefs (a Creative Angle, then a video or UGC execution brief) and ship multiple variants per concept so we can find winners fast and iterate on them.
You'll report to the Creative Lead and work alongside our media buyers, copywriters and strategists.
What you'll do
• Edit short-form direct-response video ads (6–60 seconds) for Meta Reels, Stories and Feed, TikTok and YouTube Shorts, in 9:16, 4:5 and 1:1.
• Turn UGC creator footage, founder clips, product b-roll and stock into ads that follow the script and brief exactly, then add your own ideas on top.
• Build 3–5 hook variants per concept (different opening lines, visuals and text overlays) so the media team can test which first 3 seconds stop the scroll.
• Iterate on proven winners: re-cut top performers with new hooks, new pacing, new offers or new creators when the media team flags fatigue.
• Add captions, kinetic text, on-screen callouts, sound design, music and simple motion graphics that support the message rather than decorate it.
• Follow brand guidelines and client compliance rules, including health and wellness claims rules for regulated clients.
• Hit turnaround targets: first cut within 24–48 hours of a complete brief, revisions within 24 hours.
• Keep project files, exports and naming conventions organized so any editor or buyer can find any asset.
• Review ad performance with the team each week and use what the data shows to make the next round of edits better.
What we're looking for
• 2+ years editing paid social ads for DTC, ecommerce or lead-gen brands, with a portfolio of live ads (not just reels or vlogs).
• You can explain why a hook works: pattern interrupts, problem-first openers, social proof, "us vs. them" and before/after structures.
• Strong pacing instincts for mobile: cuts every 1–3 seconds, no dead air, the product or payoff shown early.
• Advanced skill in Adobe Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve, plus CapCut for fast UGC-style edits.
• Working knowledge of After Effects or similar for text animation and simple motion graphics.
• Clear written English. You'll read detailed briefs, ask questions in Slack and ClickUp, and leave notes on your own cuts.
• Comfortable taking direct feedback and revising quickly without losing quality.
• Reliable: you meet deadlines, flag blockers early and show up for scheduled overlap hours.
Nice to have
• You've read Meta Ads Manager data yourself: hook rate (3-second views ÷ impressions), hold rate, CTR, CPA, ROAS.
• Experience editing ads for health, wellness, supplements or telehealth brands, where claims must be compliant.
• You can write or punch up hooks and on-screen text, not just cut them.
• Experience with AI tools in your workflow (voice cloning, AI b-roll, auto-captioning, upscaling) and good judgment about when they help.
• Static ad and thumbnail design in Photoshop, Figma or Canva.
• Familiarity with US consumer culture and humor, so ads land with American audiences.

Applications without a portfolio of ads won't be reviewed.
